Construction of this state of the art building, which houses the School of Business, was funded almost entirely by private donations. The opening featured prominent figures from the university and brought alumni from across the country to help dedicate the building. My wife and I attended the event, along with my colleagues at the business school.
\n\n
In order to make the evening fell a little more special, I decided to make a necklace for my wife. I wanted something that was elegant, that she would be excited to wear. The black beads are glass and the silver beads are silver-plated. The small silver beads in the strands around the neck, and the three large beads have been antiqued. The black glass set in the three large beads is faceted.
\n\n
Everything was laid out carefully, based on the position of the three large beads. Not only are they the focal point of the necklace, they each have two sets of holes for the bead wire to pass through. In order for the strands to match, and for the necklace to lay correctly, each strand uses a slightly different bead pattern.
"},"deep_dive":{"html":"
Several months earlier I made her a few pairs of beaded earrings as a Christmas gift. After that project I was interested in doing more and found myself at Michael's, buying beads--more often than I'd like to admit.
\n
\n\n
At the grand opening of Capitol Federal Hall.
